Democratic Candidate Thomas Boomhower on Molinaro Potentially Entering Race

Catskill, NY — Democratic candidate Thomas Boomhower today released the following statement in response to reports that Marc Molinaro has entered the race for New York State Assembly District 102.

“The 102nd Assembly District deserves a representative who is rooted in this community and focused on its future, not someone looking for a political landing spot after being rejected by these very voters,” said Boomhower. “This campaign is about delivering real results and economic security for our communities, and making sure that families can build a life here. That’s the work I’ve been doing my entire career, and it’s the work I’ll continue to do in Albany.”

Boomhower, an economic developer and Village Trustee in Catskill, has spent the last four years strengthening rural economies across Upstate New York and previously worked in both houses of the State Legislature. His campaign has centered on addressing the rising cost of living, expanding housing opportunities, supporting the needs of small businesses and farmers, and delivering for working families across the 102nd District.

“Voters in the 102nd District are tired of politics as usual,” Boomhower continued. “This race is about who will show up, listen, and fight for the people who actually live and work here. It’s about giving our communities a seat at the table.”

Boomhower emphasized that the contrast in the race will be clear: “While others may bring a record of partisan politics, I’m running to bring people together around practical solutions, investing in infrastructure, supporting small businesses, standing up for working families, and championing our Upstate communities.”

The 102nd Assembly District includes communities across the Mid-Hudson Valley and Upper Hudson Valley, where issues of affordability, economic opportunity, and access to housing have become increasingly urgent.

“My focus is simple,” Boomhower said. “Put working families first. Keep our communities affordable. And Deliver Real Results We Can All Feel.”
